Top 10 Value Stocks For 2017: Manitowoc Company, Inc. (The)(MTW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

With a neutral sector rating, we are working on evaluating risks to negative calls, and identifying potential value opportunities. Last week we noted more work might be worthwhile on Wabco Holdings (WBC), Terex, Manitowoc (MTW), and Caterpillar, two of those names have rallied for other reasons but the attractive price made the upside/downside skew up. We remain positive (OW) on Allison Transmission Holdings (ALSN) & United Rentals. Our and consensus 2017Allison Transmission Holdings estimates have fallen by 2% vs. ~15% for the group, while the shares are down 10% since launch. We continue to see United Rentals as the best value in our group…

Top 10 Value Stocks For 2017: Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (VLKAY)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By WWW.THESTREET.COM]

An ongoing proliferation of probes into the auto industry participants means that the practice of emissions-rigging is no longer synonymous with Germany’s Volkswagen (VLKAY) , who was the first to be rumbled in a scandal that eventually cost the world’s largest car maker more than $20 billion.

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

    Volkswagen Group (OTCPK:VLKAY), Audi (OTCPK:AUDVF), Porsche (OTCPK:POAHF)

On February 7, Automotive News reported, “VW of America launches electric vehicle infrastructure unit.” They “will manage $2 billion in investments in zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and awareness programs over a decade as part of a court settlement over its excess diesel emissions.”

  • [By WWW.THESTREET.COM]

Volkswagen AG (VLKAY) shares were under pressure Wednesday after prosecutors searched the headquarters of its Audi Group division as part of an ongoing probe into the use of ‘cheat devices’ in diesel emissions engines.

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

    Volkswagen Group (OTCPK:VLKAY), Audi (OTCPK:AUDVF)

After the emissions scandal, Volkswagen has vigorously changed directions away from toxic emission cars and towards electric vehicles. This is a wise and much welcomed move by the company.

  • [By SEEKINGALPHA.COM]

There’s a reason that it only works in one city, and on one car brand – for now. This is the kind of resource problem that is a lot easier to solve with a huge budget. That would be 10 years of a Volkswagen (OTCPK:VLKAY)-Audi $15 billion a year R&D budget, not a year’s worth of a Tesla $834 million R&D budget.

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Jim Robertson]

On Thursday, our Under the Radar Moversnewsletter suggested small cap green energy stock American DG Energy (NYSEMKT: ADGE) as a long trade:

As for American DG Energy, today’s push above a technical ceiling at $0.34 is telling, though that clue is made more telling when you see the short-term moving average lines have given us key bullish crosses over the course of the past couple of months; the undertow is turning bullish. What you can’t see on the daily chart is that this is the first time in years we’ve seen higher lows logged for ADGE.
